Useful to know before booking
PAT testing
Portable Appliance testing... Or testing of electrical items in the home or business that plug in to a socket and can be moved.
E.g: Kitchen: Microwave, kettle, toaster, oven, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, food processor.
PAT testing allows Landlords and businesses to ensure the equipment is in good, safe, working.
You may need to provide the report to a letting agent or council when requested.
EICR testing
We often are asked why our prices are higher than other companies. The reason for this is simply that our test’s are more thorough. We test at 50%
Make sure you ask what percentage is tested when getting your quotes so you can see the value in the quote.
It is likely that if your test is only 15-20%, another engineer will find more faults while carrying out the remedial work!
From our experience, the reports issued can also be very limited and this makes it hard for you to get competative quotes from other companies & some times even results in re-testing being needed.
EICR reports should also contain photos of any affected area's so that the Company quoting the remedial work has a clearer idea of what they are dealing with.
For rented properties, the report is repeated every 3-5 years.
Our advice is to go directly with an Electrician who is qualified to both test and remedy the observations.
EV Chargers
We are qualified & experienced in installing
electric car charging points & are registered with OLEV.
The world is turning to electric for most things these days. From heating to cars!
With the change to electric vehciles on the rise,
it's a really simple solution to install one in your home (If your home meets the requirements of course!)
Some useful places to visit when considering a charging point installation are:
MyEnergi - Zappi
OZEV
